History
The Chevrolet Impala is an automobile built by the Chevrolet division of General Motors. Ed Cole, Chevrolet's chief engineer in the late 1950s, defined the Impala as a "prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen." For many years, the Impala was the best selling automobile in the United States, and its 1965 sales of over one million units still stands as a record.
The engine block in this car is a date coded block from 1964, so it is as
close to correct as possible, with out being a numbers matching engine.
The car runs and drives very nice. the paint on the car looks to be a urethane
clear coat finish. they have wet sanded and buffed it to a smooth high gloss.
truly a car you would be proud to have in your collection. even the restoration of the interior is really done well too. The dash was all restored, and all seats recovered. the door panels , rear interior trim panels , new carpeting, convertible top and new convertible top parade boot have also been replaced in the restoration process. the car had a frame on restoration, and they did a very nice job cleaning up the underside as you can see in the pictures.
The engine bay area, and truck compartment are also restored and detailed very well. notice the correct chrome "dripper" valve covers.
There is a jack assembly in the trunk and a full size tire with wheel cover as seen in the pictures. the weather seals in the door jams were also replaced , as well as the weather seal in the trunk. The side mldg inserts were also just replaced to give this car that clean sharp look.
