When looking around online for your next affordable street rod you tend to see a lot flames and a lot of Fords. Flames aren't all that bad when they're done well and even if you're a die-hard Ford enthusiast, it's nice to see something different once in a while... that's why this 1934 Chevrolet Tudor Sedan is such a refreshing change of pace. A lot of time, money and effort was invested into making this classic one of the coolest 2 door sedans on the block. From its base chassis and 350 V8 to its Rosso Alfa Red paint and plush two-tone soft gray interior, the car features the best of everything without going in to the dreaded 'way too nice to drive' territory. If you're ready to experience a different kind of street rod, which can be obtained for a small fraction of the hobby's typical build cost, take a minute to learn more about this beautiful classic '34 Tudor Street Rod.

This Chevy came to us recently on a trade and we couldn't leave well enough alone. So, we rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty to freshen it up some. We addressed the little nuances and updated the car with items such as new carpeting, refurbished side interior trim panels, new dash gauges, new Holley carb, a fresh tune up, some new Coy's Torq-Thrust wheels, and more.

BODYWORK/TRIM
This clean coupe's solid steel fuselage began life as an everyday commuter that would stay out of trouble for about 60 years. Sometime around 1995, a builder initiated the restoration and build of this old sedan that included a silky new Rosso Alfa Red paint job. Today, after spending its entire post-restoration existence in the hands of two meticulous owners, the car rolls as a fully sorted out classic that's nice enough to set up on the front row of any cruise night. Notable additional items include a nice straight painted grille, new flying seahorse mascot ornament, polished headlight buckets, tinted glass, new Omega Gauges, and LED tail lamps. Details like satin markers, small mirrors, chrome bumpers and a center interior high mount stop lamp create a condensed and classy appearance.

ENGINE
Take a look under this Chevy's winged hood and you'll find a strong GM 350 that utilizes a color coded aluminum intake manifold, and a new Holley carburetor that all helps create the v/8 horsepower. At the top of the smooth-spinning v/8 engine, a fresh Holley carburetor hides beneath an Edelbrock chrome filter. At the back of the intake, an HEI distributor sequences firepower through new Taylor made wires. At the front of those cables, chrome pulleys spin a chrome alternator and custom painted AC compressor above the water pump. Cooling comes courtesy of an updated radiator that's finished with an Electric puller fan. Exhaust makes haste through some nice block hugger headers. Aesthetically, the car's smooth engine bay is quite clean, all the way from its small block firewall and chromed valve covers to its painted engine skin.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Toss this sedan on a lift and you'll find solid floor pans and a solid frame with some updated aftermarket components and a subdued coat of Satin black paint. Behind the smooth-revving small block, a Turbo 350 automatic trans, with chrome trans pan twists its power to a Ford 8-inch axle and a set of 3.55 highway gears. Beneath that drivetrain, an updated suspension employs traditional rear leaf springs, and in the front a Mustang II front clip that's fitted with modern rack-and-pinion steering and the normal mustang II control arms. Power front disc brakes, and drums in the rear provide quick, drama-free stops. The GM power plant flows into a 2.5-inch exhaust system, which flows into some low tuned mufflers and exits out through a set of new polished chrome tips. Torque transitions to the pavement through Coy's Torq Thrust Alloy Wheels, which spin 165R15 Cooper Sport 1000 Radial's in front, and P225/75R15 Premium Tip Radial's in the rear. And everything, from the car's undercoated fenders to its stock fuel tank at the rear, is solid and ready to cruise.

INTERIOR
Like most builds, this Chevy features a completely custom interior. That interior is trimmed in custom door panels, color-keyed floor mats, Billet Specialties door handles, a Billet Specialties shifter and high quality Omega Kustom gauges. Factory exterior chrome door latches provide easy access. A set of nice Bucket front Seats feels like the perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon. Power windows, with heat and Air Conditioning afford the ability to cruise in any season and in any state. A premium Kenwood sound audio system determines the soundtrack, with Bluetooth and Pandora Radio features, and in front of the driver, a new polished Billet Specialties ½ wrapped 14”steering wheel spins around a tilting steering column. And behind the passengers rear seat, a carpeted and upholstered trunk features a large amount of storage space.

A lot of street rods claim to have the “total package,” but this little '34 Chevy Tudor actually backs that talk up. The stock 350 V8 has surprisingly good manners and, paired with the car's smooth-shifting Turbo 350 automatic and accessory-heavy, tasteful interior, serves as the basis for one of the most comfortable hot rods we've had here in a while. Buy it for the classic street rod looks… buy it for the build quality… buy it for the price. Whatever you do, just make sure you don't debate too long, or this one will be gone!
