The Tri-Five Chevy's (55, 56, & 57) are some of the most beloved and recognized classic cars of all time... especially the 1957 year Chevrolet's. A lot of people love the Bel Air for what it is, but there is quite a following as well for the simplistic and raw styling of the 150 coupe. The outstanding clean lines, ornate trim as well as excellent proportions make for an incredible looking car with lots of room for customizing potential. Not surprisingly, a wide array of these Tri-Five Chevy's populate car shows all through out every town in the US, and their builds range from period correct concours quality restorations, all the way to wild creations which exceed the performance of some of today's fastest cars. Somewhere between those perfected High Dollar trailer queens and wild custom machines, you'll find cars like this '57 150 coupe. Born in Los Angeles, CA and spending most of its life in Arizona, this western ride is really solid underneath. Decked in a smooth eye-catching coat of flawless House of Kolor Tangerine Orange, sporting an attractive black custom interior and featuring an updated Chevrolet drivetrain, this super slick tri-five is an exceptionally restored show winner that's ready to take on any cruise night or run to the local ice-cream shop. Rest assured, you'll turn the heads of everyone as you pull into the parking lot wherever you go.

With just over 1000 miles since its restoration, this picturesque '57 Chevy utilizes some of the highest quality replacement parts on the market today, to create a “no excuses” car with great classic looks. When the obligations of a “period correct” restoration are removed, you'd be amazed what a seasoned body technician can do to some vintage sheet metal. And during this car's restoration, every piece of its body was stripped down and straightened until it was as close to perfect as one can get. Once all the Body panels were straightened and prepped, a fantastic coat of House of Kolor Tangerine Orange paint was professionally applied and then sealed in a thick clear coat shell. After a serious wet-sand and buffing was completed, the car was reassembled with all that attractive glimmering chrome that make these '57 Chevy's so desirable... seriously, they just don't make cars like they used to. The result is one striking 1957 Chevy coupe which features a first-rate paint job and lots of new chrome and trim. All the Tri-Fives are renowned for their brilliant use of bright chrome and beautiful stainless trim, and one look at this spectacular coupe tells you all you need to know.

Centered in this hot Chevrolet's glossy engine bay is a fully dressed, and great sounding 350 V8 that produces around 330 horsepower. At the top of that smooth small block, a polished air cleaner funnels air into a Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor that's connected to braided fuel lines, and then runs through a fuel filter and a chrome mechanical fuel pump. At the base of that free flowing Edelbrock, is a color-coded Edelbrock intake manifold. Behind that carb sits a billet HEI points distributor which shoots sparks through a fresh set of billet loomed wire technologies plug wires. At the sides of that painted intake, Billet Specialties “Chevrolet” branded valve covers hang above ceramic coated Street and Performance Shorty headers which send spent gases into a great sounding true dual exhaust system. At the front of the engine, a polished billet specialties pulley drive system lays, complete with a full set of billet pulleys and polished brackets, spinning a chrome alternator, a chrome AC compressor, and a small power steering pump under a large chrome electric fan. In front of that belt system - a nice and big aluminum radiator which is complete with black hoses, a smooth chrome cap and a familiar polished overflow tank. Then, naturally, the car's entire block is covered in a clean coat of matching Tangerine Orange paint.
Accessories like polished core-support panels meet you when the hood is first raised up, and a chrome brake master cylinder, a set of assorted braided hoses and stainless lines and trick braided dipsticks add the kind of detail that warrants multiple looks. Not to mention this fully sorted little powerhouse fires right up, idles smoothly, and sounds great doing so.

Underneath this sharp tri-five, is a straight and smooth chassis that is finished off in satin black paint. Above that top-notch chassis, the solid floor pans have exchanged their traditional oxide primer for a satin paint. Behind the engine, a turbo 350 trans spins torque through a Posi-traction rear end with 3.73 gears. The rebuilt suspension, which includes correct double A-arms up front, correct leaf springs out back, and a set of recent shocks in the rear, helps give it the ride it has. Some modern car turning characteristics are provided by a fresh power steering system. Confident stopping power comes courtesy of CPP 4-wheel disc brakes. At the center of the floor, a custom mandrel bent exhaust system sends exhaust gases through a set of great sounding Flowmaster mufflers and spotless chrome tips. All the car's fuel lines, brake lines and fasteners appear fresh and free of weathering. Putting the power to the pavement is a nice set of 18 inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels up front and 20” in the rear with new 225/40ZR18 front and 255/35ZR20'S in the rear, all wrapped up in Venezia Crusade HP radials.

Climb inside this '57 Chevy 150 coupe and you'll find a great looking black interior that's every bit as dramatic and cool as the outside of the car. Covered in fresh Black vinyl, there's some great looking bucket seats up front, and large bench seats are all-day comfortable and free of any wear marks or wrinkles. Overhead, there's a crisp black headliner, and below the seats there's like-new jet black carpet next to crisp and clean new rubber pedal covers. On the doors are new black panels that look great behind a familiar array of trim and chrome handles. Towards the front of the car, a curvaceous black dash is detailed with traditional tri-five stainless, a 7” touch screen DVD receiver sound system sits nicely in the custom made center console, where the Lokar shifter also calls home. The controls for a Classic Air heat and air conditioning system are located to the right of the steering column on the lower dash. In front of the driver, a custom steering wheel spins around a painted tilt steering column and a metallic instrument panel, which features a familiar bowtie branded speedometer. Behind the cockpit, two great sounding speakers hang over a fully custom restored trunk which features attractive black accent panels. In the trunk, a trick hidden compartment at the rear of the trunk houses the battery, air pump, and air storage tank. Black carpet finishes off the trunks custom looks nicely.

From any local show to just a drive down the highway, this fully-sorted coupe will stun even the harshest critics. It's a highly desirable '57 Chevy that's been tweaked with all of the right stuff to be a serious road machine and a stunning trophy winner. You'll instantly draw a crowd and everyone will be talking about “that clean orange tri-five Chevy.” If you've been looking for this summer's head turner, or just been wanting to reward yourself with a new toy, well look no further…here it is, and can be purchased without breaking the bank like some of these tri-fives really can do.
